per click (PPC) is a form of Internet advertising on some search
engines, advertising networks, and content websites, such as blogs,
where advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on an advertisement
to visit their website.
For PPC campaigns on search engines, advertisers typically bid the keywords or phrases relevant to their target market. Then when a user types a keyword query that matches an advertiser's keyword or phrase, or if they view a webpage with relevant content, the advertisements are displayed. These advertisements are called sponsored links or sponsored ads, and appear adjacent to or above the "natural" or organic results within the search engine results pages.
